Serving as Medical Director for Dignity Health Cancer Institute of Greater Sacramento and Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Costanzo Di Perna, MD, is board certified in both thoracic surgery and surgery. His clinical interests include lung cancer, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, molecular diagnostics, esophageal cancer, benign esophageal disease and proteomics.

Medical Director, Medical Oncology

Ram Lalchandani, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. Serving as Medical Director of Medical Oncology for Dignity Health Cancer Institute of Greater Sacramento, Dr. Lalchandani earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and stayed to complete his internship at the University of Connecticut Hospitals. Dr. Lalchandani completed his residency at Hahnemann Hospitals in Philadelphia, coming to Sacramento for his fellowship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center.

Ram Lalchandani, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. In addition to being board certified in radiation oncology, John Stevenson, MD, is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. After completing his residency in radiation oncology at UCLA, he stayed on to serve as assistant clinical professor. He then founded both the UCLA Prostate Implant Program and the Arnold Palmer Prostate Center. Dr. Stevenson’s clinical interests and specialty training include high dose rate brachytherapy; prostate, breast and GYN brachytherapy; stereotactic radiosurgery and IMRT.

Serving as the Divisional Director of Northern California Oncology Service Line, Rachel plays a key role in collaborating with aligned medical groups to ensure services are coordinated across the continuum of care, ensuring quality and patient satisfaction. Rachel joined Dignity Health in 2005 as an oncology RN at Mercy General Hospital. In 2010, she became the lead Oncology Navigator, building a cancer navigation program that now serves the entire region. Her passion for evidence-based, high quality cancer care has been a career focus since she graduated as an RN in The United Kingdom in 1993.
