Specialized trauma teams for adult and pediatric emergency services are prepared 24/7 to care for critically injured patients.
Traumatic injuries are severe and life-threatening. In a moment’s notice a specialized Trauma Team assembles to save patients’ lives within the Golden Hour. Treatment within this first 60 minutes after traumatic injury is proven to increase the chance of recovery and survival.
Adding precious response time is our new helipad. It can accommodate a helicopter as large as the Fire Hawk so patients no longer need to be transported farther away by EMS helicopters for care.
Upon arrival, patients are treated in our designated surgical suites. These are specifically equipped for trauma cases with the most advanced diagnostic technology that provides clearer images in record speed. This allows us to expedite surgery and save lives.
We are recognized for providing the highest levels of care, and are verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons. This means we are equipped to provide the highest levels of emergency care to the most critically ill and injured.
Northridge Hospital is also the only Pediatric Trauma Center in the San Fernando Valley providing lifesaving care close to home. We’re approved to receive patients via the 9-1-1 system with pediatric specialists available 24 hours a day to render immediate treatment to children with critical injuries.
