Dr. Desai received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, West Indies. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia, where she received multiple teaching awards. She then completed her Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, where she subsequently joined the faculty practice and remains a strong proponent of women's healthcare.
Although she sees patients for a variety of gynecologic issues, Dr. Desai's expertise involves treating patients with chronic pelvic pain, as well as performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is active in medical education; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Additionally, she serves as the Associate Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship at St. Joseph's.
In her spare time, Dr. Desai is the Gynecologic Surgeon for Medical Hands for Healing, a non-profit organization, and regularly participates in their medical missions to South America to help care for the indigent. Dr. Desai is committed to furthering the well-being of women, and, thus, has an avid interest in continuing research in both pelvic pain and surgery. She strives to provide her patients with an individualized and comprehensive approach. Her goal is to empower women to make optimal healthcare choices through healthcare education and patient advocacy.
