Melanoma Center

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. If caught early, the cure rate can be high. At St. Mary’s, we work with the Northern California Melanoma Center to diagnose and treat you should you be diagnosed with melanoma.

Our expert team meets weekly to discuss each new patient to make recommendations for care. We place a particular emphasis on providing information to you and your family, and offer innovative therapies through clinical trials.

Our team consists of doctors and nurses from many different backgrounds, all collaborating to reach one goal: your better health.

A Diagnosis Of Melanoma

The first consultation at the Melanoma Center lasts most of the day. Its purpose is to provide you with information about melanoma and therapeutic oncology options. Your case is then presented to the Consulting Panel who discusses the case and makes recommendations concerning any diagnostic measures needed, as well as the best therapeutic options for you.

After the initial consultation, the Center works with your doctor to coordinate your care. Our doctors provide ongoing follow-up care, along with your doctor, and if any issues arise concerning your care, your case will be discussed again by the Consulting Panel.
