Based on your symptoms, your doctor will let you know which imaging scans and tests you need and why. Together, you and your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of any recommended tests. You will also discuss how to prepare for women’s imaging and testing and what to expect during each one.

In many cases, you may have to wait a few days to get your test results. Your doctor will share your test results with you during a follow-up appointment and discuss any appropriate next steps.
