Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs) have completed a master's degree program and thousands of hours of training. Clinical Psychologists have completed a PhD (doctorate degree) and several years of specialized training.
These professionals work with individuals, families and groups to address a broad range of problems. Sensitive to differences among cultures, family types and individuals, Mercy Medical Group Behavioral Health counseling staff works with clients to identify concerns and recommend supportive treatment approaches.
Child, adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatrists are physicians who are specialists in the treatment of mental illness, trained to work with particular age groups. Their expertise includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of age-specific emotional disorders and mental illness, and in the management of these conditions with medication and therapy. Counseling services are available at 9 locations in the greater Sacramento area and Placer County. Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some early evening appointments available. For our established patients, mental health professionals are on-call 24 hours a day in case of an emergency.
