We are Dignity Health, and We're Here to Help
Hello. We welcome the chance to help you feel your best. Excellent, affordable health care, delivered with compassion, is what we stand for. Since our founding in 1986, we've made it our goal to create environments that meet each patient's physical, mental, and spiritual needs. We also believe this healing philosophy promotes the wellbeing of our staff and the places they serve.
Dignity Health is made up of more than 60,000 caregivers and staff who deliver excellent care to diverse communities in 21 states. Headquartered in San Francisco, Dignity Health is the fifth largest health system in the nation and the largest hospital provider in California.
Through teamwork and innovation, faith and compassion, advocacy and action, we endeavor every day to keep you happy, healthy, and whole.
Our Mission and History
We are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services for all. With a history rooted in kindness, the mission and values we were founded upon remain the same today.
Governance and Leadership
Through teamwork and innovation, faith and compassion, advocacy and action, the executive leadership team, board of directors, and sponsorship council undertake responsibility for major decisions affecting our health care ministry and the communities we serve.
We define health as more than an absence of disease. We believe caring for the whole person and realizing whole health is best achieved by providing for the physical, mental, spiritual and social needs of every patient we see.
Healing Our Communities
President and CEO Lloyd H. Dean is asking all of us to join him, by listening to one another, celebrate our differences, and embrace our shared humanity to heal each other and our communities.
Building on a tradition of excellence that dates back more than one hundred years, the Dignity Health Research Institute is focused on connecting hospitals, patients and physicians with the very latest in medical advances, technology, treatment and procedures.
We put our mission into practice in part through community health and prevention programs, actionable health needs assessments and strategies, community grants and investments, and sustainability initiatives.
We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable health care services in a compassionate environment that meets each patient's physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
