Sickness can happen anytime. That is why we offer Urgent Care and After Hours Care options in addition to Primary Care Physician and Emergency Department access. Open nights and weekends, Urgent Care service features shorter wait times and lower copays than the Emergency Room.

Our clinics are located throughout Santa Cruz County. Walk-ins are welcome at most locations or you can call ahead to schedule a same-day visit.

What if it's an Emergency?

If the illness or injury is immediately life-threatening — call 911. Go directly to the hospital Emergency Room (ER) only if the patient is stable enough to be transported safely. CALL 911 IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

  • Any life threatening or disabling condition
  • Injury with loss of consciousness or fainting
  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Sudden numbness of limbs or face, difficulty speaking
  • Uncontrollable bleeding
  • Confusion or loss of consciousness, especially after a head injury
  • Poisoning or suspected poisoning
  • Serious burns, cuts or infections
  • Vomiting blood
  • Inability to swallow
  • Sudden Seizures
  • Paralysis
  • Broken bones showing through the skin

When Should I Access Care at an Urgent Care Clinic?

DHMN Urgent Care Clinics are located throughout the community and can help you when you need immediate attention —conditions where delaying treatment could cause serious problems or disability. The waiting time can be much shorter, and your co-pay may be lower than an emergency room visit. Some examples of conditions that that could be treated at a DHMN Urgent Care clinic are:

  • Ear aches
  • Burning with urination
  • Cough, sore throat
  • Minor rashes, cuts, scrapes and wounds
  • Back pain, body aches
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Colds, sinus infections allergies
  • Sprains and muscle strains
