About Us

At Woodland Clinic Medical Group, we believe that providing exceptional healthcare goes beyond medical expertise. With unwavering commitment and kindness for all, we care for the well-being of our community. Our core values serve as the pillars that support our mission and guide our actions every day:

INTEGRITY   KINDNESS  INCLUSION

COMMUNITY  INNOVATION  DEDICATION

Since 1911, Woodland Clinic Medical Group has been committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to the greater Yolo County community. Our roots trace back to a partnership formed by four visionary physicians: Fred Fairchild, Chester Fairchild, William Blevins, and Hiram Lawhead. Together, they constructed the first Woodland hospital, which still stands on the corner of 3rd and Cross Street, now serving as the Woodland Skilled Nursing Facility.

From its humble beginnings, Woodland Clinic Medical Group has grown into a trusted and respected healthcare institution, guided by our founding principles. Our dedicated team of clinicians continues the legacy of our visionary founders, delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to our community.

At Woodland Clinic Medical Group, we are more than just a healthcare provider. We are your partners in health, dedicated to providing exceptional care and making a positive impact on the lives of our patients. Join us in our mission as we work together to care for the health and vitality of the Yolo County community.

Cultural Awareness & Linguistics Program

We understand the language and culture of our members

At Dignity Health Woodland Clinic, we recognize that language misunderstandings and lack of cultural awareness can sometimes disrupt clear communication during the process of receiving care.  So we ensure that our patients can communicate clearly with our clinicians and staff, no matter what language they are most comfortable speaking.

Our support includes:

  • Oral interpreter services on a 24 hour basis for all monolingual, non-English speaking, or limited English proficient patients
  • Interpreter services via VRI for those patients with a disability needing auxiliary aids/interpreter services.
  • The VRI is provided in real-time, full-motion video and audio over a dedicated high-speed, wide-bandwidth video connection.
  • Our interpreters all demonstrate proficiency in speaking and understanding both English and the language spoken by the patient and adhere to all interpreter ethics principles, including client confidentiality.
  • All member-informing materials are available in PHC’s threshold languages of Russian, Tagalog, and Spanish.
  • All member notifications are always sent to the member in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner and in the member’s preferred language.
  • Auxiliary aids and services are available to members upon request.  This includes braille and audio formats and large print (no less than 20 point Arial font).
