Whether you’re planning to start or grow your family or are already expecting, our obstetricians provide individualized care for you and your baby. Every mother’s journey through pregnancy, labor, and delivery is unique, and our providers listen to your needs and preferences to ensure you feel supported at every stage. Our experienced OB/GYNs offer comprehensive services, including sonograms, ultrasounds, regular checkups, prenatal guidance, and labor preparation. When it’s time for delivery, they are by your side to guide you through the process. Afterward, we provide postnatal care for both you and your baby, prioritizing person-centered care every step of the way.
Our family planning visit includes a review of your health and reproductive history, guidance on birth control or fertility options, and preventive screenings to help you make informed choices for your care.
Unlike a physical, this visit is about you connecting with your doctor. It’s your chance to ask questions, understand your risk factors, and prioritize your ongoing health.
Our prenatal visit includes a review of your health and medical history, monitoring your baby’s growth, and guidance on nutrition, lifestyle, and prenatal screenings to support a healthy pregnancy.
As part of the care plan, we provide important labs, tests, and screenings, and providers review the results and guide care to support a healthy pregnancy for both parent and baby.
If additional care is needed, our providers can connect you with trusted specialists to ensure both you and your baby receive the support and expertise required for a healthy pregnancy.
It includes a comprehensive postpartum exam with vital signs, physical recovery checks, mental health screenings, and guidance on newborn care.
As a mom-to-be, you have a lot of decisions to make—from choosing the right foods to preparing for your baby’s arrival. Fortunately, Dignity Health Medical Group has a whole team of specialists ready to safely guide and support you throughout your journey. Schedule an appointment today to get personalized care every step of the way.
During this visit, the doctor will get to know you as a person, address your questions, review your medical history, evaluate you for any potential health risks, perform a complete physical exam, and discuss what you might expect over the next nine months.
After your first visit, you will be scheduled to see the doctor regularly. At each visit you will have the opportunity to ask questions and share any concerns you have regarding your pregnancy. Your doctor will take the time to answer your questions and provide you with more information about what to expect. Your doctor will also help you develop a delivery plan that is tailored specifically for you to ensure that your delivery experience is positive.
We understand that having a baby is a family experience and we encourage you to bring your families/friends with you to your appointments.
After your first positive pregnancy test, most OB/GYNs will see you within 8 weeks after your last menstrual cycle.
When looking for an OB/GYN, your primary care physician can be a great resource to find a provider who suits your care needs. You can outline your important considerations and find an OB/GYN who fits those criteria. Here are some examples of things to ask about a potential OB/GYN:
Are they in-network? If not—or if you do not have insurance—what are their rates, and can you afford to see them?
Is their practice conveniently located?
What is their perspective on care issues important to me?
If you have a chronic condition or a family history of problems during childbirth—does this physician have experience with patients with the same concerns?
By answering these questions, you can be on the way to finding the right OB/GYN for you.
Seeing your physician frequently will aid in having a healthy pregnancy. You can discuss with your OB/GYN what schedule is right for you. For example, if you’re having twins, more visits will be necessary to assure that both twins are developing healthily. Your schedule of OB/GYN visits might look something like this:
4 weeks to 28 weeks: monthly visits
28 weeks to 36 weeks: one visit every two weeks
36 weeks to 40 weeks: weekly visits
Every pregnancy is different. At Dignity Health Medical Group, our OB/GYNs will work with you on an individual basis to make sure that you receive quality prenatal care on the right schedule.
Make sure to first understand why you’re going to see your OB/GYN. Is it for your yearly wellness visit or to discuss a specific concern such as birth control, testing for sexually transmitted infections, or other concerns with your vaginal health? This is also the perfect time to ask your OB/GYN any questions you may have. Prepare a list of things you’ve been wanting to know so you can discuss them with your OB/GYN.
