Meet Dr. Bowen

Tarrah BowenTarrah Bowen, MD, FAAP, is a Faculty Physician with Dignity Health Medical Group Pediatrics – St. Joseph’s.

Dr. Bowen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Middlebury College, in Vermont. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine, Magna Cum Laude, from St. George University School of Medicine, Keith B. Taylor Global Scholars Program in St. George’s Grenada West Indies.  She completed her internship and chief residency in Pediatrics at East Carolina University’s Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.  She was very active in resident and medical student education during her time at ECU.

Previously, she worked in as a pediatric hospitalist in East Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center teaching medical students and residents. She was actively engaged in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Dr. Bowen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation. She has experience in and has lectured on many topics such as, including pediatric: asthma, newborn circumcision, patient safety, wellness, anemia, emergencies, and teen pregnancy. Dr. Bowen seeks to provide quality care to children and their families, through active listening and compassionate care. She has experience in newborn circumcision, particularly enjoys areas such as newborn care, breastfeeding, asthma and children with complex medical conditions. When not at work, Dr. Bowen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and hiking.
