Congratulations to Dr. Gauravjit Singh on being selected to present at this year’s ASTRO conference!

Dr. Singh was accepted for an oral presentation on his participation in the Soothe Study, a non-contact low-frequency ultrasound (NCLF) to improve dermatitis and quality of life after radiation therapy at this year’s ASTRO (American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology) annual meeting. This is a prestigious honor as only a small percentage of the submitted abstracts are accepted for oral presentation (180 people out of 3,300 applicants) at this annual international meeting for radiation oncology. The mechanism of action of NCLF is not well understood, but believed to decrease bacterial count and inflammatory cytokines while stimulating cellular activity. Dr. Singh’s aim was to investigate whether the addition of NCLF to standard of care results in accelerated resolution of acute radiation dermatitis and improvement in patient’s quality of life compared to standard of care alone.

Please join us in congratulating him and the research team at St. Joseph's Medical Center- Stockton.
