About Our Behavioral Health Department
The Mental Health Parity Act (A.B. 88) provides for expanded mental health coverage for patients with some serious mental illnesses. Mercy Medical Group's skilled, objective professionals can provide compassionate and confidential counseling or psychiatric care to ensure that both your emotional and physical health needs are addressed. We provide counseling and psychiatry services to individuals, families, adolescents and children. We also offer a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Two Children's Centers under contract with Sacramento County offer special expertise in counseling and psychiatry for children who are Medi-Cal -eligible. Read more about the Children’s Centers that accept patients with Medi-Cal.
Our Behavioral Health Department is able to see patients who have a Mercy Medical Group provider and who have any of the following mental health insurances.
Mercy Medical Group's skilled, objective professionals can provide compassionate and confidential counseling or psychiatric care when needed. The staff will work with you and your Mercy Medical Group Primary Care Physician to ensure that both your emotional and physical health needs are addressed.

How to Schedule an Appointment
To be seen by a Mercy Medical Group Behavioral Health provider, you need to have an MMG doctor, but you do not need a Primary Care Physician referral. Behavioral Health staff will work with you to maximize insurance benefits. Call 916.924.6400 to schedule an appointment or to ask any questions you may have of our responsive staff.
