He is trained in endoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disease. Prior to joining Woodland Healthcare, Dr. Umphress completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of California at Davis School of Medicine, and performed extensive research on the use of endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Umphress is board certified in gastroenterology. Dr. Umphress believes that early detection is the key to good health, and focuses on what's best for the patient at every encounter.
Dr. Sheikh specializes in the treatment of various digestive disorders, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal, pancreatic and liver cancers. He completed his medical school and postgraduate training in India and the UK. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at University of California at Davis School of Medicine, where he published his research on colon cancer/polyps. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Dr. Sheikh believes in evidence-based medical approaches, actively involving his patients in joint decision making and treatment plans. He treats his patients with respect and compassion. Dr. Sheikh speaks several languages including Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
