Diabetes Education/Management
Individualized one-to-one diabetes education is available in English or Spanish from our certified diabetes educator and registered dietitian. Whether you are newly diagnosed or need to refresh your self-management skills to improve blood glucose control, tailored education sessions can be provided to meet your educational needs.
Some of the areas covered in the sessions include:
- Learning to use a glucose meter
- Establishing blood glucose target goals
- Observing food/glucose record for patterns
- Meal planning for blood glucose and weight management
- Carbohydrate budgeting
- Insulin dosing and correction factors
Medical Nutrition Therapy
We all know that what we eat can influence our health yet making changes in our daily food habits can be a challenge. Our registered dietitian nutritionist is available three days each week to provide medical nutrition therapy to our patients working on preventing disease and/or treating the following conditions:
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- High Blood Pressure
- Child Obesity
- Gluten Intolerance
- Kidney Disease
- Weight Management
- Bariatric Nutrition (preparing for weight loss surgery)
- Prenatal Nutrition
