Diabetes Education/Management

Individualized one-to-one diabetes education is available in English or Spanish from our certified diabetes educator and registered dietitian. Whether you are newly diagnosed or need to refresh your self-management skills to improve blood glucose control, tailored education sessions can be provided to meet your educational needs.

Some of the areas covered in the sessions include:

  • Learning to use a glucose meter
  • Establishing blood glucose target goals
  • Observing food/glucose record for patterns
  • Meal planning for blood glucose and weight management
  • Carbohydrate budgeting
  • Insulin dosing and correction factors

Medical Nutrition Therapy

We all know that what we eat can influence our health yet making changes in our daily food habits can be a challenge. Our registered dietitian nutritionist is available three days each week to provide medical nutrition therapy to our patients working on preventing disease and/or treating the following conditions:

  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Child Obesity
  • Gluten Intolerance
  • Kidney Disease
  • Weight Management
  • Bariatric Nutrition (preparing for weight loss surgery)
