Cervical dysplasia

Overview of cervical dysplasia

Cervical dysplasia is the presence of precancerous cells on the surface of the cervix, which is the opening to your uterus. Without treatment, these cells may develop into invasive cervical cancer.

Symptoms of cervical dysplasia

There are no obvious signs or symptoms of cervical dysplasia. Doctors use regular Pap tests and combined Pap and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing to detect cervical dysplasia while screening for cervical cancer.
