Cardiovascular services we offer

Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group's team of heart care specialists is dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain a heart healthy lifestyle. We focus on prevention and early detection of diseases affecting the heart. Affiliated with Mercy General Hospital, which provides minimally invasive cardiac care locally, as well as Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute, the region's leader in advanced cardiovascular care, we offer a full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic heart care procedures, including:

  • Cardiac catheterization: A procedure used to diagnose and treat cardiac conditions. A catheter is inserted into a chamber or vessel of the heart to treat known conditions such as blockages, measure pressure and oxygen levels, check pumping function, and diagnose certain heart defects.
  • Echocardiograms and cardiac stress testing: An ultrasound of the heart, an echocardiogram allows your doctor to see your heart beating and pumping blood.
  • Electrophysiology and arrhythmia service: A test to assess your hearts electrical system, or activity and a way for your doctor to diagnose any arrythmia or abnormal heart beats.
  • Heart disease prevention and treatment education: We use state-of-the-art imaging tools that provide highly detailed pictures of your heart and veins. We strive to use the most minimally invasive treatment option available for each patient while providing a comprehensive team approach to your care.
  • Peripheral artery disease diagnosis and intervention: A common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries restrict blood flow to your limbs. Caused by plaque build-up and fatty deposits in your arteries.
  • Permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implants: A permanent implant into the heart to correct an irregular heartbeat, or to prevent cardiac arrest.
  • Advanced treatment for valve disease: If your symptoms have evolved to need surgery, your doctor may perform a minimally-invasive surgery to repair the valve that is diseased or damaged.
