Afzal Khan MD is a Faculty Physician with Dignity Health Medical Group Family and Sports Medicine – Ahwatukee.
Dr. Khan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Arizona State University. He successfully completed Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University and family medicine residency at University of Wyoming Family Medicine, Cheyenne. He completed a Fellowship at St. Vincent Primary Care Sports Medicine and a second Fellowship at the University of Washington Faculty Development. Board Certified in Family Medicine with an added Certification in Sports Medicine, he is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Khan has extensive experience in ultrasound guided musculoskeletal diagnoses and injections, concussion management, IMPACT evaluations, performing PRP (platelet rich plasma), sports physicals, taking care of athletes, sports injuries as well as taking care of patients with primary care needs. Dr. Khan treats his patients like they are his family. He enjoys helping them get back to what they enjoy. “Sports is a big part of who I am. I can relate to the athletes and understand their drive to ‘get back to it’ their chosen activity”.
