Dr. Sebastian Conti, MD's Experience
In My Own Words
I received my M.D. degree at SUNY, Buffalo and completed a surgical residency at Columbia University/St. Luke's Hospital in New York City in 1975. Thereafter I served two years as a Major in the USAF at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. I began my surgical career in Sacramento on the faculty at UC Davis Medical Center in the Vascular and Trauma Divisions. At UCD, I learned the importance of becoming an expert in one's chosen field. I conducted research and published articles and textbook chapters on vein disorders. In 1981, I entered a private vascular surgery practice, with a special emphasis on venous disease, and over the years, have gained an excellent reputation as Sacramento's "Vein Doc." I still see some of the same patients treated when first in practice, and in some cases, their grown children. I am privileged to include in my practice many prominent Sacramento physicians and politicians, and members of their families. I am a writer and have written 130 or so short stories and am currently working on a novel and memoir. I enjoy travel, golf, skiing, but most of all I love spending time with family, especially my grandchildren. One does not appreciate the joy of being a grandparent until it happens. The love we have for our grandchildren is different from that for our children, unencumbered as it is by primary responsibility.
