To seek same-day care during regular office hours, please call your Primary Care Physician's office first, before proceeding to an urgent care facility. A provider in your doctor's office may be able to see you more quickly. If you are an HMO patient and visit an urgent care center during regular office hours, the center will call Mercy Medical Group for authorization to treat you. If there is an appointment available at your doctor's office that day, you will be asked to see a provider in your doctor's office.
A convenient alternative to in-person visits, a virtual visit is an appointment with your provider during which video or telephone is used. All aspects and quality of the visit are similar to an in-person visit, except you do not have to drive to the clinic. Have your appointment from the comfort of your home, work, or mobile device. "Urgent Care" is defined as same-day treatment for a non-emergency medical condition. Conditions such as flus, colds and sore throats are generally treated during a visit.
