What is HPV?

HPV can be sexually transmitted. Approximately 80% of all adults who have sex will get an HPV infection at some point. HPV spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact, including genital, anal, and oral intercourse.

HPV Symptoms

The signs and symptoms of HPV depend on the site and severity of infection. Most cases of HPV are asymptomatic, meaning you will not have any noticeable signs or symptoms. Possible signs and symptoms of HPV infection include genital warts, cervical dysplasia, or cervical cancer (detected through a Pap test). If you have one of these conditions, your care provider will also check for HPV infection.
