Neurology group joins Mercy Medical Group


Dignity Health Medical Foundation (DHMF) announced today that four neurosurgeons from Cobb, French, Prasad, and Babbitz (CFP&B) Neurosurgical Associates will join their team of physicians and health care providers.

Effective July 6, 2015, Praveen Prasad, MD; Cully A. Cobb, III, MD; Barry French, MD, FRCS, FACS; and Jesse Babbitz, MD, will become employees at Mercy Medical Group, Inc. (MMG) and serve patients in DHMF’s Sacramento-area patient care centers. Dignity Health Medical Foundation’s patient care centers in Sacramento operate under the name Mercy Medical Group, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation.

All four neurosurgeons will relocate to Mercy Medical Plaza at 3939 J Street in Sacramento. They will serve patients at Mercy General Hospital and Mercy San Juan Medical Center as part of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute of Northern California, the regional leader in stroke care, treating the highest volume of neurovascular patients in the Greater Sacramento region.

CFP&B Neurosurgical Associates group has been in practice serving Sacramento and the surrounding regions for more than 25 years. They offer comprehensive neurosurgical care including for neurovascular conditions, tumors, seizures, deep brain stimulation, trauma, and spine procedures.

Dignity Health Medical Foundation offers patient care services at 23 different locations in the greater Sacramento area with more than 370 providers who are employed by MMG, providing quality, compassionate patient care in 35 different medical and surgical specialties. MMG physicians currently provide general and specialized neurosurgical care in treatment of intracranial and spinal pathology.

As part of the agreement, CFP&B Neurosurgical Associates, MMG, and the Dignity Health Medical Foundation will work together to ensure a seamless transition for patients, providers, and employees maintaining the same high level of care.
