Woodland Clinic medical group receives highest rankings

Dignity Health Medical Foundation today announced that Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group were both awarded 'Elite Status' from the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG) 2016 Standards of Excellence Survey. 'Elite Status' is CAPG's highest recognition for outstanding quality care.

The survey rankings are given to physician groups based on their performance in improving patient experience, clinical care, and affordability of care. “Our survey is recognized as the industry standard by which the nation’s health care systems can assess the delivery of accountable and value-based care and improve patient care coordination, in line with ongoing health care reform,” said Donald Crane, CAPG President and CEO.

This is the fourth year in a row that both groups received CAPG recognition. Mercy Medical Group received Excellent Status in 2013 and Elite Status in 2014 and 2015. Woodland Clinic Medical Group received Elite Status in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

“We remain unwavering in our commitment to providing high quality, compassionate care for our patients,” said Joseph Jasser, MD, President and CEO at Dignity Health Medical Foundation. “The bar is set higher every year to demonstrate improved performance and we’re proud of our efforts to put our patients first and deliver on those promises once again.”

“Mercy Medical Group providers are honored to again be recognized for our work to make a difference in our patients’ lives through high quality, compassionate care,” said Gregory Cooper, DPM, MBA, CEO at Mercy Medical Group, Inc.

The Standards of Excellence survey is voluntary and offered to more than 250 CAPG medical group members in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. This year, 114 organizational members participated in the critical self-assessment, covering 11.6 million people in the commercial line of business, including Medicare Advantage, along with an additional estimated 3.1 million individuals in government programs.

“Woodland Clinic Medical Group is proud to receive the highest ranking in the CAPG survey for the fourth year in a row,” said Timothy Bernard, DPM, President at Woodland Clinic Medical Group. “Providing value-based, patient-centered care is at the core of everything we do.”
