Dignity Health Patient Visitation Policies

The health and safety of our patients and their loved ones remain a top priority. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are currently not allowing visitors beyond the exceptions below.

Visitor policies are subject to change without notice in order to provide the safest possible care. Please call your local hospital for the latest visitor policy.


Emergency Department

Patients 18 years and older:

  • 1 support person
  • No symptoms

Patients under the age of 18:

  • 2 legal guardians
  • No symptoms

Laboring Mothers

  • 1 designated Birth Partner or Coach during entire patient stay
  • No symptoms

Pediatric and NICU

  • 2 visitors per day
  • 1 visitor at a time
  • No symptoms

Inpatients & Same Day Admit

  • 1 visitor daily
  • No symptoms

Oupatient Procedures
Outpatient Visits

  • 1 support person
  • Must stay in the waiting room/designated waiting area
  • No symptoms

Comfort Care
Physical, Intellectual, Developmental Disabilities
Cognitive Impairment

  • 2 designated support people
  • 1 visitor at a time
  • No symptoms
  • No visitors for Infectious Isolation Patients.
  • Children under the age of 14 may not visit patients.
  • Individual patient visitation requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
