We understand the important role family and loved ones play in the healing process, and we encourage visitors to come when it is best for their loved one. On behalf of the entire Arroyo Grande Community Hospital team, we welcome you, and we thank you for being part of your loved one's return to better health.

In accordance with state and local health organization guidance, all visitors are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the last 72 hours, or proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before visiting anyone in our care.


The following guidelines apply:

  • Two visitors per patient at a time are allowed during the patient’s stay. Please coordinate the visitation of your loved one accordingly.
  • Visiting hours will be 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm, daily
  • One designated visitor may accompany an outpatient surgical patient and utilize the Surgery Waiting Room
  • Masks are not required for staff, patients, or visitors with the following exceptions:
    • Masks are required for patients, staff and visitors in respiratory/droplet/airborne isolation areas.
    • Visitors and patients are encouraged to wear masks if they are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness.

Intensive Care Unit Visitors

Visits are limited to immediate family. The nurse caring may adjust the length and time of visits for the patient.

Surgery Visitors

Family members waiting for patients in surgery are asked to wait in the main lobby of the hospital. Doctors will call or come out and talk to family members about patients' conditions after surgery.

Health And Safety

Be Well. Please do not visit the hospital if you have any flu symptoms, including a fever over 100 degrees, cough, sore throat, runny nose, rash or diarrhea, or if you have recently been exposed to someone with symptoms.

Wash Your Hands. Be sure to wash or sanitize your hands before and after visiting your loved one. Proper hand hygiene is the best way to reduce the spread of germs.

No Smoking Campus. We are committed to caring for the health and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff. Because of this pledge, smoking and using any tobacco products is prohibited in all areas of the Arroyo Grande's campus, including exterior walkways and parking areas. People who smoke will need to refrain from smoking or leave the campus to smoke. If you are a patient who smokes, nicotine replacement therapy is available. Please notify your doctor or nurse.

Gift Shop

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is pleased to offer an assortment of merchandise for hospital visitors, patients and family members, doctors, volunteers and staff through our gift shop, Cup of Love.

Hospital Cafe

Our café menu features house-made recipes, wholesome alternative options and a variety of freshly prepared goods for our patients and visiting friends and family.
