Alfred Coppola, MD Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Coppola began practicing in Bakersfield in 1983. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and his medical degree at the University of Southern California before returning to UCI as an orthopedic resident.
Dr. Coppola is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has been a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery since 1986. He is the past president of the Kern County Medical Society and past chief of staff of Mercy Hospitals.
Dr. Coppola’s specialties include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, anterior hip replacement, and total joint replacements of the hip and Knee. Dr. Coppola believes in using minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. He also treats a variety of sports-related injuries and fracture care.
George Wahba, MD Orthopedic Spine Surgery
Dr. Wahba obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated Summa Cum Laude with College Honors. He then graduated at the top of his class from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, which is consistently ranked as one of the top medical schools in the country.
After medical school, he completed a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) before completing a prestigious fellowship in spin surgery at Harvard Medical School. During that time, he trained at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, two of the most renowned medical centers in the world.
Dr. Wahba specializes in treating a wide variety of spine conditions, including degenerative disease, spinal deformities such as scoliosis and spinal trauma.
Charles Wong, DO Hand and Micro-Surgery
Dr. Wong is a fellowship trained hand and micro-surgeon. Completing this sub-specialty fellowship through Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wong trained with world renowned Plastic and Orthopedic surgeons at The Beth Israel Deaconesses Hospital, Children Hospital of Boston The New England Baptist Hospital, and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Dr. Wong completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona and subsequently attended Osteopathic medical School in Kansas City, Missouri. He then went on to complete six years of general surgery training at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California.
Dr. Wong considers himself blessed to have been helping the residents of th entire central valley for over a decade, and continues to provide comprehensive upper extremity care alongside his colleagues at Dignity Health Surgical Specialist.
