For life-threatening emergencies, call 911

If you have any of the following symptoms, call 911 immediately or go to the closest emergency room:

  • chest pain
  • bad stomach ache
  • dizziness
  • numbness
  • trouble breathing 
  • bad headache
  • weakness
  • a bite/sting
  • high or ongoing fever
  • blurred vision
  • stiffness in your neck
  • you feel you might hurt yourself or someone else

Emergencies in children

Call 911 immediately or take your child directly to the closest E.R. if he or she has any of the symptoms listed above or any of the following:

  • if you believe the child needs to be seen by a doctor right away
  • he or she is being treated for a serious condition
  • he or she is not acting like himself/herself
  • you can't wake him or her
  • he or she is very drowsy

Para emergencias potencialmente mortales, llame al 9-1-1

Emergencias en niños

Llame inmediatamente al 9-1-1 o lleve a su hijo/a directamente a la sala de emergencias más cercana si presenta alguno de los síntomas indicados anteriormente o cualquiera de los siguientes:

  • si cree que el menor necesita ser atendido inmediatamente por un médico

  • el niño/a está recibiendo tratamiento para una afección grave

  • no se comporta como él/ella mismo/a

  • no puedes despertarlo/a

  • está muy adormilado/a

You should call 911 or go straight to the emergency room if you feel that you might hurt yourself or someone else. All patients will receive a medical screening exam at the emergency room regardless of ability to pay.

(This does not apply at urgent care centers.)
