Grossi Golf Tournament Raises $9,400 to Support Cancer Services at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital

All funds raised will provide direct financial, emotional, and diagnostic support for cancer patients in need.

ARROYO GRANDE – August 16, 2019 –  The Cypress Ridge Residents’ Golf Club hosted its fifteenth annual Grossi Golf Tournament at Cypress Ridge with proceeds benefiting cancer care services at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH).

The Grossi Golf Tournament has supported cancer services at AGCH for several years, which is decided by an annual majority vote among Cypress Ridge Residents’ Golf Club members. This was the most successful tournament yet, with help from the Cypress Ridge Women’s Golf Club as a major sponsor. The event raised $9,400 in support of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund, which provides financial, emotional, and diagnostic support to local cancer patients in need.

The three-day event kicked off with a putting contest and barbecue. The golf tournament was held on days two and three followed by a fundraiser dinner and auction.

Dave Kerin, Grossi Golf Tournament Co-Chair said, “I’m fortunate enough not to have had the need for cancer services myself, but there are so many others in the community dealing with this unfortunate disease. Anything we can do to help stamp it out and improve the care for those diagnosed is our objective.”

Montisa Phelan Lopez, Vice President of Philanthropy at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation, said, “We are so appreciative of the effort the Cypress Ridge Residents’ Golf Club and Women’s Golf Club have put into this tournament, and for everyone who participates in support of cancer care services. We are so excited to increase the range of cancer care services we provide at our hospital, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community.”

The next Grossi Golf Tournament will be held in July 2020, and the event is open to anyone that would like to participate.
