The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH) Foundation is pleased to announce that its 8th Annual Golf N' Grub golf tournament at the Monarch Dunes Golf Club raised $65,000 to benefit programs, services, and capital needs of AGCH. This funding will support enhancements to emergency services, acute rehabilitation, and advanced technologies.

The Golf N’ Grub golf tournament is a unique tournament format that addresses a meaningful cause – the advancement of medicine – and is an exceptionally fun event.

“Golf N’ Grub is a great day filled with golf, fun and food. More importantly, this tournament supports important programs and services that benefit our community,” says Montisa Phelan Lopez, vice president of philanthropy at AGCH. “This exciting event is possible because of the outpouring of community support we are fortunate to have,” she adds.

The tournament is an example of the community’s support of a great cause, with 24 local food and beverage sponsors serving up their specialties along the course. Tournament Sponsor, RehabCare, and a number of other sponsors also helped to make the day a success. In addition, 40 volunteers lent a hand. The 144 golfers who participated in the tournament included community leaders, former patients, board members, and hospital employees.

Tournament co-chairs were Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian and Scott Coleman, owner of SCCI. The Major Sponsor for the tournament was the Huasna Development Company, and the Golf Ball Sponsor was SCCI. In addition, the Golfer Gift Bag Sponsor was CEP America, the Award Sponsor was Steven Flood, DDS, and the Beverage Sponsor was DR Systems. Participating vendors included: Café Andreini, The Breakfast Buzz, The Historic Santa Maria Inn and Airport Radisson, Adelina’s Bistro, Shell Beach Brewhouse, AGCH Café, Surfside Deli, Seaside Café, Ventana Grill, Central Coast Distributing, Chef Rick’s Ultimately Fine Foods, Greg Linn Wines, Fat Cat’s Café, Olde Port Inn, DPSI, Papich Construction, Palo Mesa Pizza, Far Western Tavern, Bang the Drum Brewery, Branch Street Deli, Cool Hand Luke’s, Rosa’s, Laetitia Vineyards, and Butterfly Grille.
