Mission, Vision and Values

Here to serve the common good

Dignity Health is committed to building healthier communities, advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable, and innovating how and where healing can happen—both inside our hospitals and out in the community.

Our commitment to serve the common good is delivered through the dedicated work of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and staff; through clinical excellence delivered across a system of hospitals and care centers, and through charity care, community benefits, and government program services.

With a mission to serve the most vulnerable, Dignity Health is a leader in advancing the shift from sick care to well care, and advocating for social justice.

Dignity Health also supports a range of community health programs, research programs, virtual care services, and home health programs addressing the root causes of poor health such as access to quality care and health equity, affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and a healthy environment.

Advancing social justice for all

Dignity Health’s mission, vision and values inform every aspect of our work each day, and remind us that we serve our patients, their families, our communities – and also each other. Our mission, vision and values work hand in hand: the first states our purpose, the next declares our ambition, and our values guide our actions and shape our culture. Together, they help us achieve the health care future we’re beginning to build.

Mission

As CommonSpirit Health, we make the healing presence of God known in our world by improving the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all.
