Tenth Annual ‘Day of Hope’ Event Raises $373,630 for Local Mission Hope Cancer Center Patients

Day of Hope event organizers host Day of Hope Thank You Celebration where event revenue total was announced and top fundraising teams were awarded 

SANTA MARIA, CA – September 20, 2023 – The Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation today announced that the tenth annual Day of Hope event raised $373,630 in support of local cancer patients at Mission Hope Cancer Center. This year’s event revenue total exceeds last year’s event outcome of $344,720.

“What really makes the annual Day of Hope event so special is the incredible support Mission Hope Cancer Center patients receive from the entire community,” shares Sue Andersen, President and CEO of Marian Regional Medical Center. “Whether it's a $1 donation or a gift of hundreds of dollars, the outpouring of generosity from our local community members is truly amazing.”

Day of Hope has now raised more than $2 million since its inception in 2014, with its fundraising efforts totaling $2,287,617 over 10 years. 

In addition to celebrating the event’s revenue outcome, the below community members and teams were recognized for their exceptional fundraising efforts. There are two categories for Day of Hope fundraising teams—Company Teams embrace their company name and the company’s team effort to fundraise for the cause, whereas Friends and Family Teams are led by an individual or a family.

First place company team: Rugged Radios

"Every meaningful donation from our Day of Hope event directly supports cancer patients and families in need, providing crucial assistance during very challenging times. The tenth annual Day of Hope took place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, and in addition to newspaper sales, the event included a community car parade.
