SANTA MARIA, CA – October 17, 2022 – Marian Regional Medical Center’s Marian Extended Care Center (MECC) is celebrating 35 years of providing care to the community in its 95-bed facility. Located adjacent to the main hospital, the skilled nursing facility offers patients and residents a comprehensive care program.

“The highly-skilled staff of Marian Extended Care Center are what make the facility so special,” says Dignity Health Central Coast Vice President of Post-Acute Care Services, Kathleen Sullivan. “All of our employees provide unsurpassed levels of comfort and care to their patients, who become like family during their stay in our facility. We recognize their dedication and commitment to the care of our community.”

For the past two years, Marian Extended Care has been recognized among the best nursing homes in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in healthcare rankings.

This places MECC as one of only 420 nursing homes nationwide that received the prestigious designation of U.S. News Best Nursing Home for Short Stay and Long-Term Rehabilitation. This outcome helps consumers make informed decisions and find the best possible care for their loved ones. After careful evaluation of more¬ than 15,000 nursing homes, the title is awarded to only those homes that demonstrate appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures, and are rated high-performing.
