Santa Maria Police Department Unveils Pink Cruiser at Mission Hope Cancer Center

Local police department debuted a pink-wrapped police cruiser for breast cancer awareness month and community education


SANTA MARIA, CA – October 5, 2021 – Mission Hope Cancer Center today hosted a special unveiling of the Santa Maria Police Department’s pink-wrapped police cruiser in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. 

A Santa Maria Police Department police cruiser will be wrapped pink for Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the month of October and funds will be raised for breast cancer patients at Mission Hope Cancer Center. The pink cruiser can be found throughout the community during the month as officers engage with the public and hand out flyers in English and Spanish with information on cancer. Community members are encouraged to interact with the cruiser and its officers.

Mission Hope Cancer Center, located on the Marian Regional Medical Center campus, is the region’s only advanced comprehensive cancer care center.  Highly specialized physicians, oncology nurses and therapists provide integrated oncology care to the Central Coast. Mission Hope features the most advanced technology and provides the entire spectrum of cancer care and a multitude of support services and therapies.  This state-of-the-art facility unites Santa Maria oncology treatment, imaging, research, education and outreach services at one location. It is accredited as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and received seven commendations.  The Marian Cancer Care Program at Mission Hope Cancer Center is a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, which is the highest designation awarded to community cancer centers and Marian is one of only three designated programs between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
