Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself while taking care of an adult relative or friend. This Education Series includes six, 90 minute classes, held each quarter at the Marian Home Care and Hospice office: 124 South College Drive, Santa Maria.
Mary Amedeo, licensed clinical Social Worker and Family Caregiver Navigator and Tina McEvoy, RN, Marian Regional Medical Center, will be leading the classes and sharing their expertise. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the tools you choose and put them into action for your life.
Topics covered include hiring in-home help, helping memory-impaired elders, making legal and financial decisions, understanding depression, and making decisions about care placement. You will receive The Caregiver Helpbook developed specifically for the class.
