Coastal Valley Health Center is an outpatient services center that offers Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Care. Cardiology is a branch of medicine that specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the heart, blood vessels, and circulatory system. At Coastal Valley Health Center in Santa Maria, our providers are dedicated to delivering high quality, compassionate care to both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara county residents. Meet our Expert Team

Jason Choi, MD – Cardiologist
Jason Choi, MD, is a board certified cardiologist who is proud to serve the central coast of California. Dr. Choi received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and his Medical Doctorate from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York. He completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, one of Harvard Medical School’s major teaching hospitals. He completed his cardiology fellowship at UCLA Medical Center, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Choi provides cardiology services to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital as well as Marian Regional Medical Center, where he previously served as Chair of Medicine. He is the current Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Santa Maria.

Mansoor Arain, MD – Interventional Cardiologist
Mansoor Arain, MD is an Interventional Cardiologist graduated medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and General Pediatrics.
He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and an advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Arain is passionate about minimally-invasive structural heart disease interventions and looks forward to expanding the structural heart program at Marian Regional Medical Center. Born and raised in Santa Maria, he is excited to return to his hometown and to serve the Central Coast community.

Kirsten Shaw, MD – Cardiologist
Kirsten Shaw is a non-invasive cardiologist who graduated from the University of Minnesota medical school. She completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Minneapolis Heart Institute, where she received additional training in Cardiac CT and MRI. Dr. Shaw is deeply committed to delivering patient-centered care, empowering individuals through collaboration and clear communication. She is thrilled to serve the Central Coast community, and recently published A Tale of Two Hearts, a children’s book that introduces young readers to the concepts of a heart-healthy lifestyle. Special interests in preventative cardiology, aortic disease, heart failure. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Anna Goodge, NP
Anna Goodge, MSN, NP-C, has a B.A. in Psychology at UCLA, a B.S. in Nursing at Marymount University in Arlington, VA and a Master of Science, Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Anna has Registered Nursing experience working in the Intensive Care Unit/Cardiology in Bethesda, Burn Intensive Care Unit at UC Irvine and Cardiopulmonary Rehab in Santa Maria. Anna carries over 10 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology. In the clinic setting, Anna's main focus in patient care is incorporating evidence-based treatment with a holistic approach, education in medical diagnoses and development of healthy lifestyle prevention practices. Born and raised in Southern California. Anna has lived on the Central Coast since 2006 where she lives with her family. She enjoys hiking, biking, travel, music, gardening and the wonderful lifestyle the Central Coast offers.

Jordan Sanders, NP

Jordan Sanders, MSN APRN ACNPC-AG, obtained a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in December of 2014. He then graduated in August of 2024 with a Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus on advanced practice from The University of Texas at Arlington. His Professional Memberships include: American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Cardiology Professional. As a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Mr. Sanders has a passion for cardiovascular care. With experience managing complex cases of heart failure, coronary artery disease, dyslipidemia, and other chronic cardiac conditions, he is dedicated to improving outcomes through evidence-based treatment and preventative strategies. He is passionate about advancing cardiovascular health, he focuses on reducing hospital readmissions, promoting guideline-directed medical therapy, and supporting patients through education, advocacy, and individualized care planning. When not working you can find him spending time with his two Australian Shepherds, reading, traveling, listening to live music and enjoying all the fine things that the Central Coast has to offer.
