The Surgeons and Staff of Dignity Health Surgical Services-Oxnard, Dignity Health Surgical Services-Ventura, and Camarillo Specialty Center are dedicated to providing our patients with state-of-the-art surgical care and outstanding customer service in an environment of compassion, dignity and respect. Many of this physician group were part of the  former General Surgery Medical Group of Ventura County. 

We’re proud to have this expert team join Dignity Health’s Pacific Central Coast Health Centers. Having decades of combined years of clinical experience, and through continuing education programs they have remained highly skilled in the most current minimally invasive  techniques, technologies and procedures. 

We are affiliated with several surgery centers including Dignity Health’s St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard  and Dignity Health’s St. John’s Hospital Camarillo.

Lisa L. Babashoff, MD, FACS – General Surgery, Breast Surgery (Oxnard)

Dr. Lisa Babashoff is a highly experienced and compassionate General Surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Since 2000, she has been a trusted healthcare provider in Ventura County, specializing in breast and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Babashoff currently serves as the Director of the Integrated Breast Center at St. John's Regional Medical Center, where she is also the Designated Breast Surgeon on the center's Board. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA, earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School, and completed her general surgery residency at UC San Francisco/Fresno. Conversant in Spanish, Dr. Babashoff is dedicated to providing individualized care, empowering patients through education, and fostering collaborative relationships to achieve their health goals.

 Joseph Eisner, MD, FACS MIS – Robotic (Oxnard, Ventura)

Dr. Eisner is a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He specializes in a broad range of advanced surgical procedures, including emergency surgery and critical care, robotic and minimally invasive techniques, and the treatment of hernias (inguinal, umbilical, ventral, hiatal), breast conditions (cancer and benign), skin and soft tissue cancers, and gastrointestinal issues affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, and anus. Dr. Eisner is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He is a valued faculty member at Community Memorial Health System's General Surgery Residency Program and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Western University of Health Science. Notably, Dr. Eisner was the first in Ventura County to perform Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization (THD) and actively teaches this novel technique to other surgeons.

Patrick McCarty, MD , MIS – Foregut, Robotic, Rectal, Breast, Colon (Ventura)

Dr. McCarty is a Board Certified General Surgeon with a dedicated focus on minimally invasive general and foregut surgery. He received his medical doctorate from the University of Washington School of Medicine, following his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington. Dr. McCarty completed his general surgery internship and residency at the University of California San Diego, then pursued advanced training through a fellowship in minimally invasive and foregut surgery at the University of Southern California. He is a proud member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). His expertise encompasses a wide range of procedures, including anti-reflux surgery (hiatal hernia repair, LINX®, fundoplication), and surgical management of conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, and hernias, alongside emergency general surgery, critical care, colorectal surgery, and breast cancer treatment. In his spare time, Dr. McCarty enjoys hiking, mountaineering, golf, and making music.

Brian Tuai, MD, FACS, MIS – Robotic, Colon (Oxnard, Camarillo)

Dr. Tuai is a Board Certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, known for his extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic surgery. He currently serves as the medical director of robotic surgery at St. John's Regional Medical Center. Dr. Tuai earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from UC Davis in 1992 and his medical degree from Ohio State University, College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at UC San Francisco/Fresno, where he also served as a clinical instructor. Joining the Group in December 2004, Dr. Tuai's passion lies in minimally invasive surgeries, particularly those involving the colon, stomach, gallbladder, and hernias. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Korean.

Samantha Wu, MD – Robotic ( Ventura)

Colin Mooney, MD – General Surgery, Colorectal Surgeon (Oxnard, Camarillo)

Dr. Mooney is a highly qualified physician, Board Certified in General Surgery, who brings a distinct focus on colorectal health to his practice. He has completed additional specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery and is currently board eligible in this specialized field, reflecting his advanced knowledge and commitment to expertise in this area.

His comprehensive skill set allows him to provide a broad range of surgical services, including emergency general surgery and critical care for patients requiring urgent attention. Dr. Mooney also possesses extensive training and proficiency in endoscopic procedures, particularly colonoscopy, offering both diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. This dual expertise in general and colorectal surgery ensures a holistic and specialized approach to patient care.
