Dignity Health Names Dr. Paul Gilbert Facility Medical Director of New Mesa Hospital

Paul Gilbert, M.D., to Lead New Arizona General Hospital in Mesa.

Mesa, Ariz., November, 2018 – Dr. Paul Gilbert has been named medical director of the new Arizona General Hospital in Mesa. The new facility, which will be opening later this month, is licensed under Dignity Health – Arizona General Hospital (AGH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dignity Health.

“Dr. Gilbert has worked within our organization for several years and has been a key to our success in the East Valley.  We are fortunate to have his experience and market expertise,” says Jane Hanson president and chief executive officer for the AGH.

Dr. Gilbert most recently served as the facility medical director of the Dignity Health – Arizona General Hospital Emergency Room in Mesa. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI and has been practicing medicine for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Dignity Health, Dr. Gilbert worked at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood.

The new Mesa facility will be a full-service hospital.  It will include 50 inpatient rooms and 16 emergency room beds.  Additionally, the new facility will have full access to Dignity Health’s network of physicians and specialists.
