Infants and toddlers will enjoy fun and festivities while reuniting with physicians and staff that cared for them
SANTA MARIA, CA – October 10, 2017– Marian Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will once again host its tiniest patients and their loved ones for the fourth annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Graduation Celebration on Saturday, November 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Neonates such as Ellie Moomey, born 15 weeks early and weighing less than two pounds, will have the opportunity to reunite with the caregivers that nurtured them back to health during their most critical first days. This special day will celebrate the courageous beginnings of hundreds of infants, many now toddlers, who often came into the world weighing less than three pounds.

The NICU Graduation Celebration will be held at the MRMC Tau Monument, located at the corner of South Palisade Drive and East Church Street in Santa Maria. The celebration will allow the children and families of the NICU to celebrate with the medical staff, nurses, and volunteers that make the unit so remarkable. NICU graduates and families in attendance will experience food, games, family portraits, face painting, fingerprinting, and a visit from a local fire engine for the children to enjoy.

Marian’s 21-bed, Community (Level III) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the most sophisticated and technologically-advanced unit in the region, providing exceptional care to the tiniest of patients.

For additional information or questions about the MRMC NICU Graduation Celebration, please contact Sara San Juan at (805) 739-3574 or [email protected].
