Only 3T Magnet in an Acute Care Hospital in Ventura County

The system delivers uncompromised imaging capabilities for the most advanced and demanding exams

St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH), members of Dignity Health, are pleased to announce the installation of the technologically advanced Toshiba Vantage 3T MRI to the Greater Ventura County Community. This new versatile MRI is the only 3T magnet in an acute care hospital in Ventura County, comfortable for patients of all ages and sizes, and includes leading functionality that provides the tools needed to make definitive diagnoses.

Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, is the process of taking detailed pictures inside of a body using an advanced computer, powerful magnetic field, and radio waves and is used to diagnose or monitor a number of health care conditions and treatments. St. John’s new 3T MRI features and benefits provide patients with a more comfortable scan experience while generating extraordinary image quality for the physician:

  • One of the largest exam areas that creates patient space and comfort.
  • Quietest available noise reduction technology within the MRI system.
  • Stronger imaging technology and 200x more powerful than a 1.5 MRI.
  • Faster integrated coil technology reduces patient’s exam scan time.
  • Better interface provides more efficient imaging.
  • Reduced use of contrast agents during the scanning process.

“The whole-body imaging technology and patient-friendly features of St. John’s new MRI provides advanced imaging unavailable in other systems,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of the St. John’s Hospitals. “With a more patient-friendly environment and excellent image quality, our new MRI is helping us improve patient care.”

The St. John’s MRI system is funded by generous community donations to the St. John’s Foundation.

In addition to our new 3T MRI, SJRMC and SJPVH provide a wide breadth of advanced diagnostic inpatient and outpatient imaging services for the Greater Ventura County Community. To schedule an appointment, please call: St. John’s Imaging Center in Oxnard – (805) 988-2872
