Annual Breast Symposium

Every year since 2009 the Integrated Breast Center at St. John's invites the community to a day of breast health education and celebration of self. This highly anticipated event is held during October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as a popular way for local women to empower themselves with knowledge and share their experiences in a supportive environment.

Past events have included:

  • Expert speakers on risk factors, genetics, nutrition, alternative medicine, imaging advances, immunotherapy, new radiation protocols, surgery options, reconstruction options, and the effect of treatment of heart health 
  • How to manage life before, during and after a diagnosis
  • Breakout sessions on Breast Reconstruction, Real Patient Stories, Survivor's Corner, and other relevant discussion topics 
  • Expo booths with chair massage, bone density testing, breast health exhibits, door prizes, a skincare consultant, body care, jewelry, and boutique fashion  

Accreditation and Awards

  • One of 39 centers accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) in California Designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology
  • Recipient of local and national grant awards including from the Avon Foundation, BRA, the Plastic Surgery Foundation, and Meadowlarks 

Referral to the Integrated Breast Center at St. John's Regional Cancer Center
