At Medical Clinic at Morro in Morro Bay we are a multi-specialty clinic. Our experienced team of Primary Care Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers offer diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, the management of long term, acute and chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypothyroidism and heart disease. We offer guidance on preventative care, immunization, health maintenance with patient education and screening programs. Our office has a nurturing environment but virtual visits are available on request. 

We also offer Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services.

Meet our Expert Team

Eric Maher, DO

Dr. Eric Maher is board certified in Family medicine and strives to provide excellent care by establishing a friendly atmosphere and trusting partnership with each patient. Dr. Maher is also fellowship-trained in sports medicine and is up-to-date on the newest non-operative interventions for sports injuries. He has provided care for both professional and amateur athletes for the Special Olympics, World Series of Beach Volleyball, LA Rugby and the Dew Tour. Dr. Maher completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA, a level one trauma center and widely renowned research facility in Los Angeles. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University after receiving his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is an active member of The American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.As a Cal Poly Alum, Dr. Maher and his family are happy to reside in SLO.

Laura Slaughter, MD

Dr. Laura Slaughter is board certified in internal medicine and anesthesiology, she strives to provide excellent care by taking her time with each patient making sure they leave with all their questions answered. Dr. Slaughter completed her medical program at the university of Michigan and completed her residency at the university of Davis. Dr. Slaughter Specializes in geriatric care and has a passion for helping those in need.

Saskia Wright, NP graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors in Psychology and Biology. She then went on to attend the University of Hawaii where she completed her BSN, MSN, RN and NP training. Saskia strives to provide patients with excellent care by making sure all issues are addressed in a kind and caring manner.

Heather Lukusa, DNP

Heather Lukusa, DNP

Heather Lukusa, DNP has spent the past 13 years working in primary care at a Federally Qualified Health Center in New Jersey. While there, she also served as the Director of Nursing and as the Director of Research for this organization. She served as the sub-Investigator on multiple medical research studies and has been published in The Diabetes Educator. Ms. Lukusa previously was the co-chair of the Ending the HIV Epidemic of Hudson County and sat on the HIV Planning Council. Currently, she serves on various Quality Improvement, Credentialing, and Utilization committees for a medical insurance company.
