YRMC Foundation Board Member Recognized Nationally For Positive Impact On Prescott Community

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (March 30, 2026) – Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) Foundation board member Bill Sonsin is the 2026 recipient for CommonSpirit Health’s Foundation Board Director of the Year.

Sonsin received the accolade during the “Phillie Awards”, a special ceremony during an annual event known as the Philanthropy Summit held by CommonSpirit Health, of which Dignity Health is a member. The event serves as a way to spotlight board members from the top-performing foundations within Commonspirit Health. Sonsin, who has been with YRMC’s Foundation since 2017, was chosen out of 1,500 board members from across the United States.

"I am truly honored and touched to receive CommonSpirit Health’s Board Director of the Year award,” shares Bill Sonsin, Secretary and Treasurer of the YRMC Foundation Board. “My involvement with the YRMC Foundation has been a deeply fulfilling experience. I'm proud to have played a part in advancing our mission and will continue to dedicate my efforts to supporting the health and well-being of Prescott."

The Board Director of the Year Award is given to those who uphold their foundation’s mission to help those most in need by securing funding that will provide critical resources and address key issues within the community. As his colleagues will tell you, Sonsin meets the criteria in many ways.

"Bill's visionary leadership, profound expertise, and exceptional generosity have been invaluable to the YRMC Foundation, particularly during pivotal moments like the COVID-19 response when he was instrumental in opening Yavapai County’s first and only COVID-19 vaccination center,” says David Brennan, Chief Philanthropy Officer with YRMC Foundation. “This honor truly reflects his enduring impact on our organization for the nearly nine years he has served on our board. He embodies the spirit of dedicated service and strategic philanthropy that is so vital to our success."
