Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital Awards $176,000 to Local Nonprofits in 2026

Redwood City – April 9, 2026 –  Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital has awarded $176,000 in philanthropic grants to nonprofit organizations in the communities it serves. The grants, part of the CommonSpirit Health Community Health Improvement Grants program, are specifically designed to address pressing health disparities and significantly enhance the health and well-being of vulnerable and underserved populations right here in our community.

The grant program directly supports initiatives that improve community health, advance health equity, and enhance vital local services through targeted charitable contributions. Collaborating 501(c)3 non-profit organizations applied to receive grant funds to address significant issues identified in Sequoia Hospital’s latest community health needs assessment. Identified needs include improving access to care; chronic diseases; preventive practices; housing and homelessness; and mental health.

“These grants reflect Sequoia Hospital’s commitment to working toward a healthier future for everyone in our community and extend out beyond our hospital walls,” said Tricia Coffey, Director of Community Health at Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital. “Our mission is to give back and provide access to essential health resources to help bridge gaps and support the well-being of every individual residing in our community.”

“The Community Health Improvement Grants are a tangible example of how CommonSpirit Health is living its mission and strategically investing to address our communities’ demonstrated health needs,” said Michael Bilton, System Director, Community Health/CommunityBenefit. “By financially supporting and in many cases actively partnering with local organizations in the communities served by our hospitals, we are able to help strengthen prevention, access to care, and vital services for people in crisis.”
