Dignity Health Memorial Hospital to Open Bakersfield's First State-of-the-Art Hybrid Catheterization LAB

Combined Cath Lab and OR offers advanced capabilities for Cardiac, Vascular and Neuro specialists at the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center.

BAKERSFIELD, CA – August 24, 2018 – The Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center at Memorial Hospital, Kern County’s premiere medical center for cardiovascular and neurological care, announces the expansion of its nationally recognized cardiac and neuro programs to offer high-tech, quality care to Bakersfield and our surrounding communities.

The hybrid capabilities of the new  lab – an integration of Cath Lab and Operating Room – brings advanced procedures best delivered in an integrated room that allows both surgical and intravascular procedures to occur sequentially or simultaneously, without moving the patient from one procedure room to another.

Memorial will be holding a Dedication and Donor Reception on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Media is invited to attend and interview opportunities will be available with Dignity Health cardiac and neuro specialists and members of the Lajpat and Kailash Munger Family.

This event is private and not open to the public.

Bringing advanced cardiovascular services to Memorial Hospital is made possible by generous community donors like local agriculture family, the Mungers. Their gift of $3.5 million helped establish the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center. Founded in 2012, this cardiac center includes the area’s only Bi-plane Interventional Suite, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Program (TAVR), and Hybrid Cath Lab.
