OXNARD, CA – October 29, 2020 – The Integrated Breast Center (IBC) and Infusion Centers at St. John’s Regional Cancer Center are pleased to announce that the Oxnard Police Department (OPD) shared support for Breast Cancer Awareness by donating more than a dozen gift baskets to patients undergoing cancer treatment, courtesy of Cost Plus World Market. As part of the OPD’s Pink Patch Project, their gifts are part of their campaign to increase awareness about breast cancer and offer support and encouragement to those affected by the disease.
“We are grateful to the Oxnard Police Department for their efforts to raise Breast Cancer Awareness in our community,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “During a time when cancer patients might feel the most vulnerable, acts of kindness such as these can have an uplifting impact in their daily lives, especially during a pandemic.”
The IBC is an award-winning leader in cancer care, established in 2014, is the first accredited center in West Ventura County to be recognized by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a Quality program of the American College of Surgeons. It is also a designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, recipient of local and national grant awards including from the Avon Foundation, Plastic Surgery Foundation’s Breast Reconstruction Surgery Public Awareness Grant, Meadowlark Service League, Dignity Health Oncology Grant, and Sientra Full Circle Grant. The IBC also offers patients innovative multimodality therapies, including immunotherapy, targeted therapy, biologic therapy, and chemotherapy provided by Dignity Health Infusion Centers conveniently located in Oxnard, Camarillo, and Ventura.
