REDDING, Calif. (February 13, 2023) - Through the Community Grants Program, Dignity Health North State Hospitals – Mercy Medical Center Redding, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta are able to partner with other non-profit organizations who are working to improve the health status and build a stronger more equitable future for the communities we serve. Each hospital recognized the following organizations with grants, as each leveraged the power of collaboration in their communities to offer comprehensive assistance to those in need.
Mercy Medical Center Redding (MMCR) granted $250,000 to three non-profit organizations that support Mercy’s vision and values:
St. Elizabeth Community Hospital (SECH) granted $70,500 to two non-profit organizations:
Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta (MMCMS) granted $30,000 to two non-profit organizations:

REDDING, Calif. (October 31, 2023) – Dignity Health North State hospitals (Mercy Medical Center Redding, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta provided more than $57 million during fiscal year 2023 (FY23) in patient financial assistance for those unable to afford medical necessary care, unreimbursed costs of Medi-Cal/Medicaid, community health improvement services, and other community benefits.
Dignity Health takes a comprehensive approach to improving community health, including not only inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical care, but also a range of prevention and health improvement programs delivered alongside community partners, financial grants to non-profit organizations, and investments in efforts that address the social determinants of health.
Dignity Health provides emergency medical care and medically necessary care in our hospital facilities to all patients, without regard to a patient’s financial ability to pay. Our hospitals have a financial assistance policy that describes the assistance provided to patients for whom it would be a financial hardship to fully pay the expected out-of-pocket expenses for such care, and who meet the eligibility criteria.
