Your comfort is our priority.

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta’s also uses nerve blocks with our surgical procedures, which can help keep orthopedic patients more comfortable. Nerve blocks are used for surgical pain and post operative pain control. This decreases the use of narcotics during and after surgery.

By using nerve blocks, patients typically feel much better when they wake up. The use of nerve blocks limits the amount of narcotics that are required. This may result in patients experiencing less pain, and starting their healing faster so they can return to normal activity in less time.
