Special & Caring Individuals

Volunteers are special and caring individuals who give of their time, without pay, to assist with patient and non-patient care in our medical facilities.

Thinking About Volunteering?

Dignity Health volunteers provides support to Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and within our Urgent Care centers in Ahwatukee, Gilbert, Maricopa and Queen Creek. Each volunteer contribution directly benefits the comfort and satisfaction of patients, staff, and visitors.

Volunteers are essential to our healing ministry at Chandler Regional Medical Center. Our Volunteers are special, caring individuals who give of their time, without pay, to assist with patient and non-patient care in our medical facilities. Many of our volunteers enjoy helping others and each brings a personal touch to our staff, patients, and their families.

Benefits of Becoming a Volunteer

Many of our volunteers were former patients in our hospitals. They were so touched by the personal care and kindness they felt while in the hospital they want to be able to pay it forward by donating their time to others in need. Volunteers also receive the benefit of:

  • Making new friends and meeting new people
  • Developing new interests
  • Learning new skills
  • Making a difference in someone's life
  • Enjoying the satisfaction that comes from helping others
  • Awards and recognition
  • Participating in hospital events

Volunteer Opportunities

As part of the volunteer interview process, we do our best to match your special skills to service area needs. Volunteers are an integral part of our team and we want your experience to be fulfilling and rewarding.

Some of the support roles include:

  • Assisting with hospital and outreach events
  • Navigating patients and visitors
  • Leading training and educational sessions
  • Providing companionship
  • Assisting in our gift shop

Services in Action

Through funds raised by its gift shop, Chandler Regional Medical Center's volunteers proudly supported the GetWell Network. This enhanced patient education platform now allows trained nursing floor volunteers to assist patients directly, including facilitating requests for our 'Paws for Patients' program via an integrated screen.
