Advanced Neurological Procedures

With the array of procedures available, Barrow specialists will work with you to determine the best treatment options for your condition.

Our neurological procedures and services include:

Cognitive disorders. Barrow’s Cognitive Neurology team uses the most advanced technology to help diagnose Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-affecting neurological disorders. We also offer clinical trials of new drugs for these conditions.

Epilepsy. Barrow’s Epilepsy Program is among the largest in the Southwest, offering a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and specialized neurodiagnostic and neuropsychological testing.

Electroneurodiagnostic services. Board-certified neurophysiologists and other specially trained staff members conduct an array of clinical neurophysiological tests and intraoperative monitoring services, such as EEG, Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response and Nerve Conduction Studies.

Sleep Center. This outpatient center, staffed with a sleep-trained neurologist and pulmonologist, provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with common sleep problems and those linked with neurological disorders, such as stroke and epilepsy.

Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and Movement Disorders. This comprehensive resource center provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, including Deep Brain Stimulation.

Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis. Our neuroimmunology experts offer medical care, support services and referral to community resources to individuals with multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barre, lupus and other inflammatory and demyelinating disorders.

Neuromuscular. Board-certified neuromuscular specialists provide diagnostic and treatment services to people with ALS, muscular dystrophies, inflammatory myopathies and neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, inherited peripheral nerve diseases, myotonic disorders, CIDP and other related diseases. Barrow’s MDA/ALS Center is one of only a few designated by the Muscular Dystrophy Association nationally.

Neurosurgery. Barrow is one of the busiest neurosurgical centers in the world, offering comprehensive neurosurgery services that include cerebrovascular neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery and radiosurgery.
