Information For Visitors

Family and friends play a big role in the healing process, and we encourage visitors to come when it is best for their loved one. We welcome you and thank you for being part of your loved one’s return to better health.

Dedication To Excellent Care

St. Joseph’s is dedicated to providing excellent care in a safe, patient- and family-centered care environment.

Temporary Visitor Restrictions

For the safety of everyone who enters our facilities, the following restrictions apply:

Hours for St. Joseph's:

  • Visitation will only be permitted between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Visitors must check in, undergo a temperature and symptom screening, and wear a mask over their nose and mouth while in the hospital.
  • Visitors will not be allowed in the Emergency Department or on COVID-19 units.

All visitors must check-in to receive a visitor badge. This badge must be visible at all times.

All patients have the right to choose who may visit them. In certain situations, St. Joseph’s reserves the right to limit the number and time of visits. This may be due to:

  • Physician requests restrictions based on the patient’s medical needs
  • Patient or roommate needs privacy (especially during procedures or tests)
  • Care of other patients in a shared room
  • Lack of adequate space to accommodate all visitors
  • Court order limiting or restraining contact
  • Any situation that would cause an unsafe environment for patients or staff

We ask for your cooperation if a staff member requests you to leave the room and return to the waiting room. This will allow us to fully concentrate on the patient’s care and needs. You will be allowed back into the room as soon as it is safe to do so. If you have concerns about our visitation policy, please speak to the manager in the area you are visiting.

Visitor Guidelines

It is the responsibility of each visitor to comply with policies that protect patients’ rights to considerate and respectful care and privacy.

  • Guests must observe appropriate hand hygiene guidelines
  • Guests who have symptoms of illness (e.g., cough, fever, runny nose or diarrhea) should refrain from visiting for patients’ safety. The nurse may ask a sick guest to leave.
  • Guests wishing to visit patients in isolation will need to obtain permission from the nursing station before entering the room.
  • No pictures or video are permitted while care is being provided. This also refers to the use of cell phone cameras or other media devices.
